About Manuel
Manuel Costa was born around 1895 in Ponta Delgada, São Miguel, Azores, Portugal. He emigrated from Ponta Delgada in March 1913, sailing on the SS Canopic. In 1913 he came to Fall River, Massachusetts. From 1914 to 1958 Manuel worked as a loom fixer at the Sagamore Mills in Fall River. He lived in Fall River in 1920.
On 22 October 1921 he married Maria da Conceição Silva in Fall River. They had one child, Ellie. Manuel was naturalized in Fall River in 1926. He lived on Columbia Street, Fall River, Massachusetts in 1940. He died in 1960 in Fall River. Manuel is buried at Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River, Massachusetts.
